MAXIMUM ABRASION
RESISTANCE

Typically, a minimum of 5.5 – 7.0 kg/m2 is recommended to be applied
for heavy-duty floors to achieve high surface abrasion resistance. Today,
with large panel sizes, low water-to-cement (w/c) concrete mixes, and
high summer temperatures, it becomes challenging to apply a sufficient
amount of dry shake.

The unfortunate reality is that, in many cases, contractors can only apply
2-3 kg/m2, resulting in only a 1 mm thick layer of dry shake, or, in most
cases, no layer at all because 3 kg gets mixed with the base concrete.
The final thickness of a dry shake layer should be minimum 2 to 3 mm
and that is only possible to achieve with min. 6kg/m2 application.
